Portal of time, Gavrinis neolithic stele ring in silver

The "Portal of Time" ring is a silver jewelry piece inspired by the engraved steles of the Gavrinis archaeological site, located in the Gulf of Morbihan in Brittany. This cairn, dating back to 4000 BC, is one of the most remarkable testimonies from the Stone Age. Largely preserved under a layer of sand, the site reveals impressive engravings that have survived through the centuries.

The site is especially famous for its orthostats, large upright stones adorned with complex motifs, including spirals, intertwined curves, chevrons, and other abstract forms. These symbols, some interpreted as representations of nature, such as water and the sea, have sparked numerous speculations. Others see them as animal representations or even geographical maps.

To honor this heritage, we transposed these motifs into contemporary jewelry. Drawing inspiration from the engravings on a stele from the "Cairn de Gavrinis," we designed this ring, as well as a variant called "The imprint of the past."

The name "Portal of Time" refers to this timeless connection between our era and that of the ancients. This elegant piece of jewelry, both subtle and rich in historical meaning, is a true invitation to contemplate rock art and celebrate Neolithic heritage. If you are passionate about archaeology or feel a connection to ancient art, this ring will become a powerful symbol, merging the past and present on your finger.
