Hitomi, japanese soothing wave ring in sterling silver

The "Hitomi" ring embodies the very essence of Japanese culture through its inspiring wave motifs. The sea, omnipresent in Japan’s island life, is more than just a landscape: it is a symbol of power, resilience, and journey. Infused with this symbolism, the Hitomi ring celebrates the strength needed to navigate the tumultuous waters of existence.

Its distinctive pattern, called Seigaiha or "blue sea wave," offers an infinitely repeated representation of overlapping concentric circles, creating the illusion of gentle and regular waves. This visual harmony recalls the calm stretches of water, evoking the tranquility and beauty of the peaceful sea. Each repetition of the pattern reinforces the sense of serenity, stability, and prosperity.

The very name of the ring, Hitomi, meaning "eye" or "pupil" in Japanese, finds its echo in its meticulous design. The oxidized part of the ring resembles the depth and intensity of a gaze, adding an artistic and mystical dimension to this already remarkable piece.

Offering the Hitomi ring goes far beyond a simple gesture. It is offering a symbol of tranquility, inner strength, and good fortune. Perfect for enthusiasts of Japanese culture, sea lovers, and those seeking peace in their daily lives, this ring harmoniously adapts to all styles, making it an essential accessory for any occasion.

The Hitomi ring also exists in a narrower version, which you can find under the name Hitomi small. We also offer another ring inspired by the sea as viewed by the Japanese, but this time depicting turbulent waters under the name "The Sea" ring.
