Uchronia, steampunk retro-futuristic ring in silver
The "Uchronia" ring derives its name from the term uchronia, defined as a narrative set in a world identical to ours until a certain event that diverges from known history. This "divergent event" is central to uchronia, just as the steampunk and retro-futuristic genres imagine alternate realities. What would our world look like if steam power had remained the primary energy source? What if certain historical events had never occurred or had evolved differently? The "Uchronia" ring also evokes the "Butterfly Effect," the idea that small causes can have significant impacts.
This substantial ring, 15 mm wide, features a sleek yet striking design. It showcases a single motif within a confined space: a triangle formed by gears, a direct nod to the steampunk universe. The motif is mirrored, reflecting the concept of uchronia where the past and present mirror and transform each other.
Despite its width, the ring remains thin and elegant, making it a perfect accessory for a dandy or gentleman. The lower part and the inside of the ring are oxidized.
The upper part is brushed and shiny.
