INSPIRATION
ABOUT
This ring is named "Tesoro Zapoteco," which means "Zapotec Treasure" in Spanish. It is inspired by a ring found as part of a significant treasure discovered at the archaeological site of the Zapotec culture, Monte Albán, in Mexico. This treasure comes from offerings found in the famous Tomb 7 and dates back to the 14th century, constituting the largest treasure found in Mexico to date.
Such rings were worn by individuals of high status. In this specific case, it may have belonged to an important priest of the Mixtec ethnic group. The ring’s design reflects the refinement and cultural richness of the pre-Columbian civilizations.
The ring is engraved with a geometric motif of Zapotec origin, often referred to as "Greek frets." These intricate patterns, with their spirals and stepped representations, likely evoke water, movement, and life. Tradition often associates this Zapotec motif with the serpent, symbolizing water and fertility. The spirals symbolize the ebb and flow of water, while the stepped motifs represent spiritual ascent and the continuity of life.
Crafted in silver, this ring captures the essence of Zapotec art. Every detail engraved on this ring tells an ancient story, transporting the wearer on a journey through time to the majestic civilizations of Monte Albán. "Tesoro Zapoteco" serves as a tangible link to the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Zapotec and Mixtec peoples. Wear this ring to celebrate the richness of this history and to add an element of elegance and mystery to your jewelry collection.

The band is 8 mm large (0.315 inches).
