Sherlock Holmes, neo-victorian steampunk gear ring in silver and garnet
This engraved ring is crafted in a neo-Victorian steampunk style, also known as "retro-futuristic." This style combines the modernization of Victorian-era attire — a period marked by rapid industrialization — with the imaginative world of steampunk. In this universe, technology evolves based on steam power, perpetuating the Victorian era through an alternative vision of technological progress. Modern devices operating on steam, featuring prominent gears and visible piping, are iconic elements of the genre.
Steampunk is captivating for its distinctive fashion, often showcased in cosplay, and for the stories that inspire some of our jewelry. This ring has been named "Sherlock Holmes" in reference to the famous detective of Victorian literature, who has been reimagined in this science fiction universe. Holmes embodies the Victorian dandy and British elegance, characteristics we envision in the wearer of this ring.
The design of this ring goes beyond aesthetics. The body of the ring is adorned with multiple gears of various shapes and sizes, symbolizing the relentless mechanics of the great detective. The band supports a bezel set with a deep red garnet, cut into a triangular shape. The triangular design evokes stability and mathematical strength, while the bright red color of the garnet symbolizes the passion, energy, and sharp intellect of the character Sherlock Holmes.

The band is 12 mm large (0.394 inches).
