ABOUT
This charming whale-shaped brooch is named Sedna, in tribute to the Inuit sea goddess, creator of all marine animals. Sedna is revered by the peoples of the Far North for her generosity and her power to provide essential food for their survival.
We chose to create a fantastical whale to evoke this particular goddess, with a design inspired by the Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, known for his fantastical and original worlds. The brooch captures the essence of Sedna, merging the mystical with the natural to create a unique and captivating piece.
The silhouette of the whale is adorned with botanical motifs in the form of leaves and flowers, asserting its deep connection with nature. These intricate details add a sense of life and growth, symbolizing the fertility and abundance that Sedna brings to the sea.
Sedna, in Inuit mythology, is a central figure, representing not only the sea but also the source of all marine life. By wearing this brooch, you also wear a symbol of respect for nature and marine creatures, as well as a tribute to the cultural richness of the Inuit peoples.
This piece will not go unnoticed on your jacket or scarf. Its distinctive design and profound symbolism make it an accessory that draws attention and sparks conversation. The Sedna brooch is a wearable work of art, blending aesthetics with mythology.
The "Sedna" brooch is a celebration of nature and culture, a fusion of mythology and contemporary design. By wearing this brooch, you carry a part of Sedna’s spirit, the sea goddess, and pay homage to the beauty and diversity of marine life.
