ABOUT
The "Runes of Life" ring is a unique and personalized creation, born from the fusion of a tiger eye cabochon and the Celtic universe. This almond-shaped cabochon, with its soft and harmonious curves, features deep shades of black, gray, and translucency, giving the stone a serene elegance and intrinsic robustness.
The tiger eye, evoking the element of water, recalls the sacred rivers around which many Celtic sanctuaries were built. It symbolizes the fluidity and strength of the current, sometimes clear and serene, sometimes tumultuous and dark, depending on the obstacles it encounters. The golden lines within the black tiger’s eye suggest the shimmering reflections on the water, reinforcing the idea of perpetual movement and natural power.
The body of the ring is adorned with two ancient runes: Thurisaz and Laguz, from the Elder Futhark, the oldest Germanic runic alphabet used between the 2nd and 8th centuries. These symbols, rich in history and mysticism, have deep roots in Norse tradition. According to mythology, the runes were discovered by Odin, the supreme god, who, in the poem Hávamál from the Poetic Edda, sacrificed himself by hanging on the World Tree, Yggdrasil, pierced by his own spear, Gungnir, for nine days and nine nights. Through this ultimate act of devotion, he gained the wisdom of the nine worlds and the knowledge of runic secrets.
For this ring, our client chose two emblematic runes: Thurisaz and Laguz. Thurisaz, the third rune, symbolizes the "giant" or "Thor," embodying notions of strength, protection, and power. It evokes the ability to overcome obstacles. Laguz, the twenty-first rune, represents "water" or the "sea," associated with fluidity, intuition, life, rebirth, and deep emotions. It reflects the mysterious and ever-changing nature of the aquatic element, essential for life and renewal.
The body of the ring, finely reticulated, has a texture reminiscent of the earth, our original matrix. This finish adds a tactile and visual dimension to the piece, symbolizing the inseparable connections between man and nature.
The "Runes of Life" ring is thus a true work of art, combining tradition and symbolism for a unique personal and spiritual expression.
