Iceland rune, celtic talisman galdrastafir pendant in sterling silver
The "Iceland Rune" pendant, a Celtic Galdrastafir talisman crafted in sterling silver, is a custom-made piece meticulously engraved on both sides according to the specific instructions of our client.
The chosen motifs are Icelandic magical symbols, also known as Icelandic magical staves or Galdrastafir. These symbols originate from ancient Icelandic grimoires dating back to the 17th century, though their origins likely trace back even further to medieval times.
Used as magical talismans, these motifs were inspired by Celtic runes and attributed various properties, notably protection. Galdrastafir are integral to Icelandic folklore, embodying centuries of traditions and legends.
The front of the pendant is engraved with the symbol of Ægishjálmur. According to legend, this symbol grants invincibility in battle and offers powerful protection to its wearer.
On the reverse side, you’ll find the Vegvísir, a symbol believed to guide travelers even through the worst weather conditions, ensuring their safe return.
