JEWELRY
INSPIRATION
The metaphysical pendant is a tribute to the mystery and elusive beauty of nature. It showcases a mookaite breccia jasper of rare elegance, with subtle hues of snow and vanilla, shaped into a navette form. The moment we laid eyes on this singular stone, its composition of colored panels, between brilliance and harmony, captivated us. It had to be part of our collection.
Mookaïte breccia is an exceptional variation of classic mookaite. Its name, “breccia,” refers to a fascinating geological process: over time, the movements of the earth’s crust fragment mineral deposits into irregular shards. Silica-rich groundwater infiltrates between these fragments, and through a slow crystallization process, it bonds them together, forming a true natural mosaic.
In this particular specimen, three dominant hues emerge: a deep ochre yellow, a bright white, and a soft, warm vanilla. These colors are subtly defined by fine, darker lines, reminiscent of the lead rails in stained glass, giving the stone the appearance of set glass, as though nature itself had conceived a luminous, vibrant artwork.
It is almost inconceivable that such patterns could form without human intervention. The way the rock organizes itself to create such a precise mineral puzzle seems to defy the laws of geological chance. This disturbing harmony between order and chaos, between breakage and reconstruction, evokes a nearly supernatural phenomenon, leaning more toward mysticism than mere physics.
This is why we chose to name this pendant “metaphysical.” This discipline, at the crossroads of philosophy and theology, questions the fundamental principles of existence and what lies beyond human understanding. The enigmatic formation of this stone perfectly fits this quest for meaning: how could such an assembly arise spontaneously, without any prior design?
To respect the uniqueness of this mookaite breccia, the pendant has been designed to give it the space it deserves. It rests on a silver plate, three-quarters of which gently follow the curve of the cabochon, widening slightly to better accompany it. The upper part, on the other hand, takes a free-form shape, a subtle contrast that echoes the interaction between order and disorder in the stone’s formation.
The cabochon is held by four triangular prongs, reminiscent of petals closing in on a natural treasure. These delicate silver settings embrace the stone without masking its internal structure, allowing it to capture the light and reveal the depth of its nuances.
This metaphysical pendant is a reflection on the enigmatic beauty of the world, a tribute to the creative force of nature and the mysteries that still elude our understanding.
