ABOUT
Step into the captivating universe of Mélusine, a ring where every detail tells a story steeped in mystery and magic. The very name of this piece evokes the wonder and mystery of the forests of Europe, an ode to the power of legends that span the ages.
In Gaulish mythology, Mélusine embodies the fusion between the human world and the realm of spirits. Feminine and serpent-tailed, her silhouette symbolizes wisdom and occult knowledge. Tales of Mélusine unfold in French regions (Poitou, Alsace, Lorraine, Champagne, Dauphiné, Luxembourg) and German territories, where she continues to fascinate with her enigmatic nature.
Medieval folklore has entrenched Mélusine in the collective imagination through tales and legends infused with destiny. According to tradition, the fairy Pressine, her mother, enchanted her for offending their father, King Elinas. Thus, every Saturday, her human appearance transforms, her legs becoming covered in scales, revealing her true nature. A curse that permeates every facet of her existence, imbuing her story with tragedy.
This ring, with its finely engraved scales, evokes the mystery of Mélusine’s transformation. It embodies the very essence of this medieval legend, capturing the shimmer of deep waters and the magic of ancient tales. A jewel that will enchant history and folklore enthusiasts, offering them a tangible connection to a world where destiny weaves its web around mortals and supernatural beings.
