ABOUT
The Marquesan ring celebrates the Polynesian islands, intertwining the fascinating stories of New Zealand, Hawaii, Easter Island, as well as Samoa, Tonga, and French Polynesia. Engraved in silver and adorned with delicate details, it evokes a timeless connection with the ancient traditions and captivating legends of this region of the world.
At the heart of this ring lies the Marquesan cross, an iconic symbol charged with profound meanings. Also known as the "Marquise cross" or "cross of the Marquesas," this motif, locally called "peké enata" or "peka ’enana," embodies the fusion of the human and the divine. Translated as "cross with human figures" or "cross of men," the elegant lines of this cross intertwine stylized human figures, forming a cross with soft and harmonious contours.
Beyond its aesthetic beauty, the Marquesan cross carries symbolism. It evokes the sacred harmony between the fundamental elements of nature - earth, air, fire, and water - and embodies the essential balance for a peaceful existence. By wearing it, one connects to the ancestral energy of the Polynesian islands, embracing their millennia-old wisdom and their balanced worldview.
This Marquesan ring also comes in a larger size in our store, known as the "grand Marquesan." Similarly, this design has notably served as a wedding band, which you can find under the name "diapason."
The cross pattern will be adjusted according to the size of the ring.
