ABOUT
Queen Anne’s lace, also known as wild carrot, evokes the delicate beauty of fields and meadows. This plant, often encountered during countryside walks, stands proudly along country lanes, offering its white umbels as botanical adornments. Light and graceful, it seems to dance in the breeze, akin to a field ballerina.
Its airy silhouette, undulating on long stems, appears to capture the very essence of femininity. At the top of each white umbel, sits a unique purple flower, a touch of color amidst the radiant white. In homage to its beauty, the English dubbed it "Queen Anne’s lace," a nod to the grace and elegance of this wild plant.
According to legend, Queen Anne of Denmark, wife of King James I of England, was inspired by the lace-like appearance of this flower when creating her delicate works. It is even said that she pricked her finger while crafting her lace, adding a touch of her own blood to the delicacy. Thus, the purple flower at the heart of the white lace symbolizes the fusion of fragility and strength, softness and determination.
In the language of flowers, the Queen Anne’s lace flower symbolizes sanctuary, protection, peace, and the ability to accomplish difficult tasks. This ring, with its frieze depicting Queen Anne’s lace, celebrates this timeless symbolism. It evokes the craftsmanship and delicacy of the botanical plates created by the scientists of Queen Anne’s era, offering a true ode to nature and its ephemeral beauty.
