INSPIRATION
ABOUT
The "Paisley drop" necklace draws its inspiration from the teardrop-shaped motif, also known as Paisley or Cashmere, originating from the ancient region of Iran.
This emblematic motif, often associated with a cypress tree, carries the symbolism of the Zoroastrian flame in Mithraism and is intrinsically linked to Zoroastrianism. Once adorned on royal crowns, it bears witness to the cultural heritage of the illustrious Sassanian (224 - 651) and Safavid (1501 - 1736) dynasties of Iran. Over the centuries, this motif has evolved aesthetically, yet it has preserved its distinctive teardrop or pinecone shape, adorned with exquisite floral and leaf patterns.
The pendant takes the form of an irregularly contoured drop, evoking the lush vegetation and delicate leaves typical of Cashmere motifs. At its center, an oval pink sapphire, resembling the heart of a flower, adds a touch of delicacy and splendor. Resting on a cut-out plaque reminiscent of morning dewdrops, the sapphire is framed by a silver ball, evoking a flower bud ready to bloom.
This jewel embodies the very essence of timeless elegance, combining the refinement of ancestral motifs with the delicacy of contemporary craftsmanship, inviting the wearer to embrace the cultural heritage and eternal beauty of Iran.
