ABOUT
The "El Condor Pasa" earrings evoke the majesty of the Andean birds through a bold and symbolic design. Each domed disc is meticulously engraved with circles of symbols, surrounding the deep blue zircon cabochons that seem to reflect the splendor of the Andean sky.
At the heart of these concentric circles, a frieze of birds in full flight forms a circle, recalling the grace and power of the South American condors, who reign supreme in the skies of the Andes Mountains. Their majestic silhouette evokes the ancestral connection between these iconic birds and the Andean peoples, who revered them as divine beings.
The name of this raptor, "condor," originates from the Andean language, Quechua, derived from "Kuntur" meaning "Great bird." For the Incas, it embodied the god of the air, Kutur-Kuntur, and was considered a totemic animal, connecting the world of the living to the world of spirits and the divine. The condor was thus the guardian of the gates between worlds, symbolizing the harmony between earth and sky.
Small pendants delicately adorn the lower part of the earring, adding a touch of elegance and movement, like feathers floating in the air currents.
These earrings thus embody the wild beauty of the Andes and the spiritual depth of Andean culture, inviting the wearer to soar to new horizons, between heaven and earth.
