Heart of life, maori ring in sterling silver

"Heart of Life" is inspired by the Manuah motif, originating from the Maori tribes of Polynesia and traditionally used in their tattoos, this ring embodies the richness of Maori culture.

The Manuah, also known as "koru," means "heart" and symbolizes the journey of life. It is the main line that outlines the tattoo, depicting the past stages and future aspirations of the wearer. The term "koru" evokes growth, renewal, and harmony, referring to the unfurling fern whose stem gradually unfolds. It is a powerful symbol of transformation and connection with nature.

In Maori tradition, the lines of the Manuah follow those of the skin, thus tracing the life path of the tattooed individual. This dialogue between the individual and the tattoo artist is essential to reflect life stages, journey, and time spent on Earth authentically.

The "Heart of Life" ring captures this deep symbolism by reproducing the main lines of the Manuah, accompanied by spiral secondary lines reminiscent of the koru. It evokes the art of tattooing of the Pacific peoples while offering a contemporary and elegant interpretation.

For those passionate about Maori symbols or who admire their artistic tradition, this ring becomes a powerful symbol, an expression of philosophy and connection with the deepest elements of human existence.
