ABOUT
The “Prussian Blue” earrings are designed around oval beads of blue serpentine, a semi-precious stone renowned for its deep, mysterious shades. We opted for minimalist ornamentation to highlight the serpentine's subtle color variations. Each bead is anchored by a silver sphere at its base, while the connection to the hooks is crafted from silver wire, elegantly coiled into a spiral to create a refined and dynamic contrast with the stone.
The earrings draw their name from both the mysterious hues and the captivating allure of the blue stone. Prussian Blue, also known as Berlin Blue, is a pigment discovered accidentally by a German chemist in 1706. This uniquely intense color quickly gained prominence in the art world, mesmerizing painters and creators. Its inventor kept the recipe secret for over 20 years, sparking intrigue and imitation attempts among other chemists. Decades passed before the pigment's full secrets were uncovered.
These earrings embody both the profound blue of the stone and the historical enigma of the pigment, merging nature and artistry in perfect harmony. A touch of blue, a hint of mystery, and a unique piece of jewelry for your ears. :)
We created two pairs of earrings with serpentine: the first (shown in image 1) features deeper, darker tones, while the second (in image 2) displays lighter shades. Please specify your preference—pair no. 1 or pair no. 2—when placing your order.
