Its name, Echinoidea, refers to the class of marine animals to which sea urchins belong, emphasizing its deep connection to natural history and the oceans. The fossil appears as a slightly irregular hemisphere in warm shades of brown and caramel, evoking the hues of earth and sand. On its back, the distinctive five-branch pattern immediately captures attention. This design, resembling a five-petaled flower or a five-pointed star, arises from the pentaradial arrangement of plates forming the sea urchin's external skeleton.
